Every year at Ajo, AZ, during the first weekend of February, a Fiddlers Contest is held out at the country club. I went two years ago and was glad to have a chance to come back again this year. On Thursday evening the many fiddlers gave a performance, and on Friday and Saturday evenings they played for a dance. But on Saturday and Sunday daytime, everyone competed in their own age groups. I enjoyed the twin fiddle, the hot fiddle and the finals on Sunday.

This young man was only 11 years old. He won in several categories. |

Not everyone played the fiddle. |

And here was a friend who joined in the jam sessions out in the campground. |
 |
You could walk around the campground and you would be sure to find several jam sessions. |
