Every year at Ajo, AZ, during the first weekend of February, a Fiddlers Contest is held out at the country club. I went two years ago and was glad to have a chance to come back again this year. On Thursday evening the many fiddlers gave a performance, and on Friday and Saturday evenings they played for a dance. But on Saturday and Sunday daytime, everyone competed in their own age groups. I enjoyed the twin fiddle, the hot fiddle and the finals on Sunday.

This young man was only 11 years old. He won in several categories.

Not everyone played the fiddle.

And here was a friend who joined in the jam sessions out in the campground.

You could walk around the campground and you would be sure to find several jam sessions.
